| The
Stanley Park Companion by Paul Grant and Laurie Dickson.
In The Stanley Park Companion Paul Grant and Laurie Dickson have
combined social and natural history memorabilia, photographs,
illustrations, maps, drawings, anecdotes and remembrances
to reveal the many surprises tourists and hometown visitors can
find in this thousand-acre sanctuary. For example, many of the
coping stones along the Seawall are actually headstones from Mountain
View Cemetery; one avid golfer achieved his last wish to have
his ashes scattered in every one of the 18 holes at the Stanley
Park Pitch-and-Putt; and Stanley Park and Vancouvers abundant
grey squirrels are offspring from eight breeding pairs, which
were a gift from New Yorks Central Park.
